We are currently hiring a Safety Supervisor to work in Fort Wayne, IN. This role is a direct hire opportunity, joining a global team offering continued industry training.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the implementation of company-wide and project-specific accident prevention initiatives.
- Design, deliver, and manage safety training programs tailored to workforce and project needs.
- Conduct routine worksite assessments to identify hazards and ensure safe working conditions.
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs aligned with organizational safety standards.
- Perform and document site safety inspections and audits, focusing on identifying hazards and correcting unsafe behaviors.
- Organize and facilitate safety meetings and training sessions to promote open communication and awareness across all levels of staff.
- Represent the company during safety inspections and regulatory investigations to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Review job hazard analyses for major work activities and ensure they are completed accurately.
- Assist field leadership in the creation and continuous improvement of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Monitor safety program effectiveness through daily site visits and provide oversight for compliance and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with field personnel to develop and implement corrective action plans addressing safety issues.
- Provide actionable feedback and support to project leaders, promoting continuous improvement and safety excellence.
- Offer coaching and mentoring to correct unsafe behaviors while reinforcing and recognizing safe practices.
- Conduct project-specific safety orientations for new team members as needed.
- Support leadership in conducting incident investigations and ensure thorough case management for all workplace injuries and illnesses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction safety or a related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification required.
- Prior experience working with union labor forces is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with teams and influencing positive safety behaviors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
